Los Mirlos – Garnacha 2023 – 6 Months of barrel ageing

Los Mirlos is a vibrant red wine, made 100% from native Garnacha grapes from our 40-year-old vineyards, where soil, climate, and variety take center stage. It is aged for six months in French oak barrels. Our viticulture is based on the concept of zero residue, with no use of herbicides or insecticides. During aging, the wine undergoes weekly batonnage. This wine is silky, with delicate sensations on both the nose and palate. It pairs perfectly with roasted, fried, stewed, or braised red meats, as well as salads featuring chicken, nuts, or sauces. Llaves de Yerga – Tempranillo & Garnacha 2021 – 6 Months of barrel ageing

Llaves de Yerga is a red wine made from selected harvests, sourced from our vineyards located on the slopes of Monte Yerga. It combines the best of Tempranillo and Garnacha, traditional grapes from our region, with six months of aging in French oak barrels. This blend creates a versatile wine full of nuances, maintaining the freshness of the fruit while adding a touch of complexity thanks to its time in barrel. This wine is the perfect companion for poultry dishes and blue fish recipes.Las Pelayas, -Tempranillo 2020 – 18 Months of barrel ageing
Las Pelayas is a more mature representation of Tempranillo, with 18 months of aging that provide it with a rich and complex structure. This wine is made from grapes grown in our vineyards located in the heart of La Rioja Oriental. The wine is aged on its lees in tanks for 6 months and then remains in the cellar for another 18 months

in french oak new barrels with semi-annual racking. A complex varietal wine on the nose and velvety on the palate, it pairs exceptionally well with all types of red meat dishes and meat-based rice dishes. Las Traviesas – Tempranillo & Garnacha 2019 – 36 Months of barrel ageing
Las Traviesas is the result of
three years of aging in French oak new barrels,
blending Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes into a majestic and sophisticated wine. The grapes used to craft this wine come from our oldest Tempranillo and Garnacha vineyards located on the slopes of Monte Yerga. We select the best grapes from each plot, which are fermented separately, and after a long resting period of 36 months in the cellar, we blend the wines. With spicy aromas, ripe red fruit, and a rounded mouthfeel, it is an excellent wine to pair with roasts, traditional stews, game meats, and aged cheeses.

Our new range of DOCa Rioja reds is a reflection of the effort, dedication, and passion we have invested in each bottle. At Bodegas Álvarez Alfaro, we remain committed to our heritage and quality, and we are proud to offer wines that tell the story of our land and tradition in every glass. We invite you to discover these new wines, a tribute to the richness of DOCa Rioja and to the history of our winery.
